【浅ヶ部神楽】
  浅ケ部は天香具山（あまのかぐやま）の山裾に広がる世帯数９０戸の集落で、１８３１年から１８３４年にかけて天保の大飢饉にあい、里の有志が四国八十八ケ所の寺院の土を持ち帰り、集落内に八十八所の石仏を安置して、開眼（かいげん）・開場している。旧暦１月２１日の初大師をはじめ、年三回の忌日（きにち）には、今も小組ごとに大師堂でのお茶の接待が行われ、お山かけ、お日待ちをはじめとする神仏に対する畏敬の心が厚く、四季を通じた農耕行事が多い集落である。
  夜神楽は、熊野神を祀る磐下大権現社（いわしただいごんげんしゃ）の氏神祭として、年ごとに五つの小組順送りで、民家を神楽宿として奉納される。古くから旧暦１１月１１日を「土の日」として定めて行われていたが、平成１７年からは１２月の第３土曜日に実施されている。
  浅ケ部神楽は、江戸末期から明治にかけて百数十人の神楽弟子を抱えていた、高千穂神社の神楽役・樋口治吉郎（ひぐちじきちろう）の神楽を継承しているといわれ、日本の芸能研究者として知られる故・本田安治氏（ほんだやすじし）をはじめとする多くの神楽研究者が訪れ、全国に紹介されている。

【Asakabe-Kagura】
Asakabe is a village of 90 households located at the foot of Mt. Amanokagu. During the Tempo Great Famine (1831-1834), some locals brought soil from the famed 88 temples on the Shikoku Island to their hometown and erected stone statues of Buddha at 88 spots across the village. Deep respect for deities and Buddha can be felt in the village through various events such as festivals, ceremonies, and prayers.
Night kagura is performed at Iwashitagongensha as a ujigami festival. This event is organized by 5 groups of villagers in rotation and performed at a private house. In the old days, it was performed on November 11th on the lunar calendar. Since 2005, however, the performance takes place on the third Saturday of December.
It is said that Asakabe-kagura is the extension of the kagura developed by Mr. Jikichiro Higuchi. Mr. Higuchi was the kagura master of Takachiho Shrine between the late Edo period and the Meiji period and had more than one hundred pupils. Many kagura scholars including Mr. Yasuji Honda attended Asakabe-kagura and introduced it to all over Japan.
