【奥村神楽】
  奥村（おくむら）地区は、椎葉村の北部、南流する十根川（とねがわ）流域に位置する、世帯数１４戸の集落である。古くは５人の平家の落人より開かれたと伝えられる。その落人の中の一人である日ノ本次郎（ひのもとじろう）は、１５７４年に、集落内に浄土真宗明林寺を創始した日ノ本三十良（ひのもとみそら）の祖父にあたると云われている。氏神さまは明林寺に棲んでいた蛇が祀られている木森大明神と、行者が修行したという山中の白岩（しらいわ）に天狗面をまつる白岩大明神で、共に大切にされている。住民は神社の氏子であり、また寺院の門徒でもある。
  奥村神楽は、集落の氏神さまの祭りで、家内安全、五穀豊穣、集落の安全を願い奉納される。以前は２軒の民家が交代で神楽宿となり、三十三番が夜通し舞われていた。面を着け女装などをした「道化（どうけ）」が御神屋（みこうや）の周りでおどけて舞い、見学客を笑わせた。村人によるせり歌や囃しなどもでて、賑やかであった。軽快なリズムの太鼓と神楽歌に合わせた舞が特徴である。現在は、高齢化にともなう後継者不足のため、日神楽となっている。１１月の第３土曜日に、「式三番（しきさんばん）」と称される「あんなか」「日月（にちげつ）」「大神（だいじん）」の３演目が、奥村集会センターにて奉納される。

【Okumura Kagura】
Okumura is a district of 14 households located north of Shiiba Village on the basin of Tone River flowing south. It is said that the land was reclaimed by five fugitives of the Taira clan in ancient times, and Jiro Hinomoto, one of the fugitives, is the grandfather of Misora Hinomoto who founded the Myourinji Temple in 1574. The villagers worship both “Kimori daimyojin” and “Shiraiwa daimyojin” deities, who treasures respectively a white snake that inhabited “Myourinji” and a Tengu mask on the white rock in the mountain where Buddhist ascetics had practiced. They are either the parishioners of the shrine or Buddhist disciples.
Okumura Kagrua is dedicated to the tutelary of the district to pray for abundant crop, well-being of their families, and safety of the district. Traditionally the entire 33 programs were performed through the night at two private houses taking turns. In the past, a male clown wearing female kimono fooled around the sacred mikouya stage and provoked the laughter of the audience. The night kagura performance bustled with people and “kaguraseriuta,” which refers to kagura songs and chants given by the audience. The performance is known for the dance in harmony with rhythmical taiko drumbeats and songs. The Okumura Kagura is currently held during daytime due to the shortage of successors resulting from the aging population. On the third Saturday of November, three acts “Annaka”,”Nichigetsu” and ”Daijin” collectively called “Shikisanban” are performed at the Okumura Community Center.
